Reserve your accommodation.
Secure your placement in a class.
Book your transportation. (if elected)
Reserve your cell phone. (if elected)
Secure your course material.
By paying this deposit your program is guaranteed against price increases. For this reason, many students pay the deposit months to a year in advance. Even after paying your deposit you still have the flexibility to change the start date up to 4 weeks before your scheduled arrival date without penalty.
