Host Families PDF Print E-mail
ImageWe know that an immersion experience not only involves classes and language learning but also cultural immersion plays an important role in the learning process. That is why we arrange accommodation with local families who have been selected by our experienced staff with the help of a psychologist.  The families that host our students go through a very thorough selection process and receive constant training to keep them educated on areas where students may need help, such as with cultural shock issues and problem-solving techniques.

They will provide the care and help necessary to make your learning experience complete and are committed to treating their guests as part of their family.  Students staying with local families will learn about local Chilean customs, history, politics and the arts just by interacting with their new families. Just like your family, each of our homestay families has an interesting history that goes hand in hand with the history of our country.

Besides their care, love, help with Spanish and support at all times, our families offer:
  • Private rooms for singles or couples
  • Bathroom shared with a maximum of two people
  • Two meals per day: Breakfast and dinner (healthy & nutritious local food)
Note: we also cater to special dietary requirements such as vegetarians or gluten-free.
  • Laundry
  • Cable TV (to keep you connected to the rest of the world)
  • Internet access and/or WiFi
  • Non-smoking environments
  • Telephone access to receive calls from your relatives and friends
  • Pet-free families available upon request.

A reason to love studying abroad is that it takes me to places like Escuela Fronteras, the best school in Santiago, with the best staff ever! Thanks for the great instruction, wonderful food and activities. I am proud to be one of your first students. Much love to all my friends from Escuela Fronteras. See you very soon!
