Deposit Policy: A deposit of $150.00 USD is required at least four weeks before your arrival date in order to lock in your prices, reserve your accommodation, book your language program along with any other special programs you have requested. This deposit is non-refundable, however you have the flexibility of changing your start day free of charge four weeks prior to the original date.
* Note: Many students pay their deposit months or a year in advance of their scheduled date to guarantee against price increases while retaining the flexibility to change their program if the need should arise.

Payment Policy: Your program balance must be paid in full before you arrive to avoid problems with your scheduled programs. Failure to pay your balance at the beginning of your program will forfeit any qualifying discounts and may delay or interrupt your scheduled special programs. Payments may be made in US Dollars or Chilean Pesos via cash, credit card or through a bank transfer. For anyone wanting to use travelers checks, you must exchange them for cash before paying for your program. Our receptionist can help you with this transaction.
Program Change Policy: Starting four weeks before your start date and throughout your program, it is important that you communicate with either your salesperson before you arrive or the school's director after you start if your plans change, you wish to extend or change your program or you must leave the program prematurely. Changes made to previously scheduled programs less than four weeks in advance are subject to a $50.00 USD change fee for each time a change is made.
Cancellation Policy: If for any reason you need to cancel or put your program on hold, you may do so at the end of the week for group classes or anytime for private classes and then resume at a later time. You may also elect to transfer your balance to a another student to use if you wish.
* Please note that you must talk directly with the director of the school once you have begun classes to cancel or postpone or with your salesperson if you need to make a change before you arrive. No other employees are authorized to accept your cancellation or to postpone your classes. Services not cancelled through authorized personnel are considered forfeited and are not refunded.
Refund Policy: Refunds are available to students who have booked their classes directly with Escuela Fonteras and who did not require help from the school to receive a visa to enter the country. For students sent through an agency or a university program or for students who needed help to entry the country, classes may only be put on hold to be used at a later date.
For all other requests, the following exceptions apply:
- The $150.00 USD Security deposit is not refundable.
- Any classes, accommodations or programs canceled less than four weeks before their date are subject to a $100.00 USD cancellation fee.
- Once a week of group classes has begin it is not refundable.
- Cancellations or postponements not communicated to authorized school personnel are not refundable.
- Accommodations with hostels are subject to their cancellation policy.
* Note that refunds are calculated by creating a new quote for the services that were used, less any qualifying discounts and any fees incurred. The balance is therefore considered the refund amount.
Private Courses: All private courses are based on your availibility creating a fixed weekly schedule for your classes. They can be held at our facilities or at another agreed upon location. The maximum length of a course is 10 weeks with an additional period of two weeks to make up any missed classes. Any classes not taken within 12 weeks of the start date are not refundable.
An individual class may be postponed by the student with a minimum of 24 hours notice given by phone to the school during normal business hours. Any class canceled with less than 24 hours are forefeited.
You may put a class on long term hold only by talking directly with the school's director. Please note that our standard program change fee will apply.
If for any reason you wish to cancel the remaining classes you may do so with the following conditions.
- The $150.00 USD Security deposit is not refundable.
- Our cancelation fee applies if your classes were canceled less than four weeks prior to the start date or they have already begun.
- Classes already taken will be considered hourly private classes.
* Note that refunds are calculated by creating a new quote for the classes you have used with their new price, minus any discounts you qualify for, plus any fees you have incurred. The remaining balance will be considered your refund.
