After only two visits to Chile I was hooked! I knew I wanted to live in a Latin country & learn Spanish but I never felt safe and secure until Chile. Charming people, a modern country & a stable government - Chile has the perfect mix, including amazing mountains, deserts & untouched wilderness.

I knew that acclimating to a new culture would not be easy so I dedicate this column to helping others meld into the wonderful country I now call home.

ImageOne thing I find fascinating about living in another country is the cultural differences. Customs are not right or wrong, they are simply different and to get to know the people there is no better way in my opinion than through local customs. Some customs will seem very normal, at least they were for me, while others are what locals take for granted and are necessary to understand in order to have a successful shopping trip.

My 6 weeks at the school were great. I learned a lot and really improved my Spanish. Everyone at the school was super welcoming and the teachers made the learning process really fun. It's much more than a school, with all the community links and social events they offer and host! it really is a link to life in Santiago. Overall a great experience!
